Sculpted Lamp Bases

Alix uses black clay and white and blue glazes for most of her pieces. Her process usually involves three firings instead of two. Alix doesn't use a pottery wheel; her process is more akin to sculpture. Each piece is hand built which shows the hand of the artist, creating those "perfect imperfections" that give the object a unique personality.

Alix Soubiran's handmade lamp bases have been a favorite for interior designers around the country. She is now introducing her custom Linen Lampshade Collection "Ma France" which pairs perfectly with her 18th century French-inspired ceramic lamp bases.
